This week’s topic hypocrisy had me searching for the true meaning. I knew what it was, but wanted to be sure what I was thinking it was is true. We are asked to write about if we have witnessed this or have ever been confronted by this. Well I feel we see this everyday each and every one of us. We might not think about it much, but I do believe it’s all around us. People want to know the truth, we do not expect people to lie to us or tell us stories they feel is right. Then these people turn around and prove to us what they speak about, are not what they themselves are doing or believing. I think of people like sales people playing this role telling you all the good things about a certain something, when they do not feel anything good about it, but have to say they do to sell it. Just take a look at the commercials on TV. Do we really feel those who write these truly believe what they are telling us? What about in politics also? I feel strongly that some of the politician that announces to us some sort of lie, to get elected or reelected just tells us what they think we want to hear. I do not feel they follow through with much of what they tell us. I remember being in a church group at one time in my life, where the preacher preached about the Commandment’s and turned around and took advantage of one or two of them himself. Do not stand in front of me telling me what is right and wrong when you yourself do not follow. Let’s face it we do not want to be lied to and told about morals from anyone that does not follow their own rules on life. I know I would not, though I also hope if someone close to me feels I do that, they will be honest with me and bring it to my attention.
